10-panel comic featuring Myrrh. Panel 1: Myrrh pointing to the 'spiraling over nothing' drawing I posted earlier and exclaiming 'HEY!!! Too many of you are relating to this and it's bumming me out!!! We have to do something about this!' Panel 2: Looking altogether too proud of themself, Myrrh continues: 'Fortunately for us, I'm basically an expert at getting so so scared. So here are my 3 awesome tips for when I'm freaking out and need to trick myself into being unscared'. The next panel shows a doodle of Myrrh breathing cartoonishly deeply. The narration reads: 'Tip #1: You can take a deep breath or two. Everybody knows this one and I can feel you all rolling your eyes at me so I won't explain this one but it really does help ok'. The next panel shows a doodle of furniture in a bedroom, each labeled with a material it's made of (e.g. metal, wood, paper, fabric). The narration reads: 'Tip #2: You can look around at all the stuff in the room, and mentally list what everything is made of. I don't remember where I learned this one, but it's a great way to distract yourself for just long enough to calm down.' The next panel shows Myrrh frustratedly imagining a sunny meadow with a big red X over it. The narration reads: 'You can also make up your own little mental rituals! Something that's a little more personal to you. Some people will tell you to go to your happy place. This never worked for me. I have to go somewhere sad, then make it better.' The next panel shows a doodle of 4 silhouettes in a blizzard. The narration continues: 'I like to imagine my favorite characters in a blizzard, or a hurricane or something. They're scrambling to get to safety, they're fighting for their lives, and they think they're all gonna die.' The next panel shows the characters arriving at a house. The narration continues: 'But then, they make it home! The power is out, and the storm outside rages on, but they're safe inside.' The next panel shows the characters snuggled up under a blanket in the dark in the safety of their house. The narration continues: 'They get dried off, and they snuggle up under a blanket together, and they wait out the storm.' the blizzard in the background of the drawing fades. The narration continues: 'The world outside is cold and wet and scary, but the world outside doesn't exist right now. They're safe, and they're warm, and they have everything that they need.' The background of the house fades, leaving only the characters huddled together, smiling. The narration concludes: 'They have each other, and they're gonna be okay. And so are you!!'

Becoming Unscared 101

Some of the tags and comments I was getting on the 'spiraling over nothing' drawing were getting a little worrying, so I felt compelled to make this.
